Colon Cancer Awareness Month: Community Wellness Expo Promotes Healthy Living

Wellness Expo to be Hosted by Jefferson & Madison County Health Departments

The wellness expo, held in honor of Colon Cancer Awareness Month, will feature more than 30 vendors at the First Baptist Church of Monticello from 4 to 7 p.m. The event is organized by the Jefferson & Madison County Departments of Health Chronic Disease Committee and aims to raise awareness about colo-rectal health and provide valuable information to the community.

Administrator Kimberly Allbritton highlights the importance of events like the wellness expo, especially during National Colo-rectal Cancer Awareness Month. “These events are crucial in promoting wellness and healthy living in our community,” she said. “We want to provide people with the resources they need to take care of their colo-rectal health and live a healthier lifestyle.”

The expo will offer free health screenings, disaster-preparedness information, giveaways, and more. Attendees can also enjoy cooking demonstrations by Second Harvest of the Big Bend, which will also be giving away free produce.

The event is free and open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for everyone in the Monticello area to learn more about health and wellness. Don’t miss out on this chance to improve your colo-rectal health and live a happier, healthier life!
