Double Trouble: Hollidaysburg and Central Tennis and Baseball Teams Dominate Their Opponents

On Tuesday, Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team won another match and improved to 5-0, defeating Altoona with a score of 3-2. Luke Mitchell from Altoona got a win in singles play, as well as the doubles team of Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer. Hollidaysburg’s Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel also earned singles wins, as did the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney.

Meanwhile in high school baseball, Central defeated Penns Valley with a final score of 19-9 in six innings. Mason Byler picked up the win in relief for Central, while Jay Hoenstine led the Dragon offense with three hits and four RBIs. Troy McNichol also had three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger had three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marko had two hits and three RBIs. Despite multiple errors on both sides, Central emerged victorious thanks to strong offensive performances.

In tennis action, Hollidaysburg’s Ben Johnson defeated Altoona’s Luke Mitchell in singles play. Meanwhile in baseball, Central’s Mason Byler came in relief to pick up the win over Penns Valley’s offense that was led by Jay Hoenstine with three hits and four RBIs
