Experience the Magic of a Partial Solar Eclipse: A Unique Viewing Party at Frost Science Museum in Miami on April 8, 2024.

Join us at Frost Science for a partial solar eclipse viewing celebration

On April 8, 2024, the United States will experience a total solar eclipse. This celestial event will stretch from Texas in the south to Maine in the northeast, making it one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. While Miami will not be directly in the path of totality, it will still experience a partial solar eclipse.

The partial solar eclipse will begin at 1:47pm and peak at 3:01pm when 45% of the sun will be obscured. The event will end at 4:13pm. To celebrate this special occasion, Frost Science is hosting a partial solar eclipse viewing party starting at noon on April 8th. The museum, located on the waterfront, will offer special programming in its planetarium and throughout its galleries focusing on the science and history of eclipses.

Guests can observe the partial solar eclipse from one of six levels of the museum while protecting their eyes with solar viewers. Bring your own pair or use the goggles provided for free with your ticket purchase. The viewing party will feature activities such as building a lunar base camp, creating a pinhole camera, storytime, interactive eclipse shows and more. Ticket prices for non-members start at $37.95 for ages 12 and older and $26.95 for kids ages four to eleven, granting full access to the museum and eclipse programming.

During this event rooftop access at the museum will be limited to active Frost Science members on a first-come first-served basis only so don’t miss this opportunity to witness a unique astronomical phenomenon!
