Exploring the Power of Community: Kaua’i District Health Office Hosts Open House during National Public Health Week

Come join us at the Kaua‘i District Health Office for an open house event – all are welcome!

The Kaua‘i District Health Office is excited to host an open house during National Public Health Week. On April 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event will take place at the district office located at 3040 Umi St. in Līhuʻe. This free event provides an opportunity for the public to speak with Hawai‘i State Department of Health staff about various programs and actions that community members can take to address public health challenges.

During the open house, attendees will have the chance to learn about public health career and educational opportunities as well as different DOH programs and services that aim to enhance the well-being of the community. Dr. Janet Berreman, Kaua‘i District Health Officer, looks forward to welcoming everyone at the event and expressing her gratitude towards the community and partners for their continued support in building a thriving and healthier Kaua‘i.

The theme of this year’s National Public Health Week is Protecting, Connecting, and Thriving: We Are All Public Health. The entire community benefits when we work together to create opportunities to understand and support public health issues like vector control, administrative services, community health workers, public health nurses, epidemiologists, mental health professionals, food safety inspectors, disabilities case managers, and microbiologists who will be present at the open house event.
