The City has announced that all leased sports fields, including those used by schools, will be closed during a specified time frame. This means that using these fields during the closure period is strictly prohibited. Permitted leagues that are found using a closed field may face fines or loss of field usage for the season. Unpermitted users will receive a warning or citation if caught on a closed field.

Closures are typically posted by 2 pm on weekdays and 8 am on weekends. In addition to receiving updates via the website and phone calls, individuals can now sign up for email or text alerts for field closures on the City’s website. To do this, simply click on “View All” under press releases on the main page, then click on “Notify Me” on the right side. From there, you can add your email address and select which groups you want to receive messages from as well as specify if you prefer email, phone alerts or both.
