Herc Rentals Acquires Rental Works of Maryland, Expands Its Fleet and Footprint in North America

Herc purchases an East Coast rental company

Herc Rentals, a leading equipment rental company in North America, has recently acquired Rental Works of Maryland, an independent equipment rental company serving the Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia markets in the US. The acquisition was announced in April by Herc Rentals, which has added 15 locations since the beginning of the year.

David Graham, managing partner of Rental Works of Maryland, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that he believes the shared values of integrity, respect, teamwork, and accountability between the two companies will result in a successful business combination. Founded in 2007, Rental Works of Maryland operates four branches and has built a successful business with the support of its customers and team.

Herc Rentals also reported completing four acquisitions in Q1 of this year, adding a total of 11 locations and opening four new greenfield locations. As of March 31, the company’s fleet had a total value of approximately $6.4 billion at OEC, representing a 10% increase from the previous year. The average fleet age was reported as 47 months.
