Outgoing Dean Tim Dunnagan: A Legacy of Growth and Expansion in Health Sciences

Dean Dunnagan from the College of Health Sciences to be Recognized on April 10th

Joelle Powers, the current senior associate dean of the College of Health Sciences, has been appointed as the new dean after Tim Dunnagan steps down on April 10th. Dunnagan, who has served as dean for 14 years, will take on a new role as special assistant to Provost John Buckwalter, focusing on developing new academic programs in health sciences. During his tenure as fifth dean of the college, significant growth and expansion have been achieved.

The college has nearly doubled in size and launched three doctoral programs under Dunnagan’s leadership. Additionally, various programs have been created and expanded, including online offerings, a genetic counseling path, and multiple certificates designed for working professionals. Dunnagan also established an advisory group comprised of current and retired CEOs and leaders in the healthcare industry to provide feedback and guidance on course development and major selection.
