Russian Rescuers Work on Crocus City Hall: Extension of Search Operation, 137 Dead Since Attack

The search operation extended at Moscow region terrorist attack site until March 26

On Tuesday, March 26, the search operation at the site of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall in Moscow region will be extended until 17:00. The death toll remains unchanged at 137 since Sunday.

The attack took place on Friday, March 22, when four armed men entered the building and shot many people before starting a fire and escaping in a car. The FSB of Russia later announced that all four perpetrators had been detained in the Bryansk region. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, resulting in the detention of 11 suspects.

Rescuers are still working tirelessly to clear debris at Crocus City Hall, with dog handlers and builders also involved. The rescue operation was completed on Saturday evening, with a total of 137 confirmed deaths, including three children. However, not all of the deceased have been identified and around 100 victims remain in hospitals.

On Monday, March 25, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations published a preliminary list of victims that included names regardless of gender. Among those listed were Abdulova Tatyana Anatolyevna, Almukhametov Ilya Igorevich, Baklemyshev Alexander Borisovich and many others.
