Da Vinci Announces Opening Date for New Science Center in Allentown

The long-awaited Da Vinci Science Center is set to open at the PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown, and the anticipation is palpable. This new education center will replace the existing facility on the Cedar Crest College campus and officially welcome the public on May 22.

As visitors step into this state-of-the-art 67,000-square-foot science education facility, they will be greeted by an immersive exhibit that showcases 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs, from Velociraptors to the iconic T-rex. This exhibit, called “Dinos Alive,” promises to be an unforgettable experience for all ages. Visitors will also have access to interactive exhibits such as exploring the human body in the LVHN My Body exhibit or meeting North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine presented by Alvin H. Butz.

Executive director and CEO Lin Erickson expressed her excitement about the opening of this premier science center in the Lehigh Valley. She emphasized how strong community support made it possible for them to achieve their mission of making science come alive and bringing lives to science, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s curiosity.

In addition to its exhibit galleries, the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion will offer amenities like fully equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and interactive workshops to engage visitors of all ages. There will even be a rooftop terrace for private events, adding to the overall experience of exploring, learning, and discovering at this premier science center in Allentown.
