Spring Youth Sports Closet: Community Comes Together to Support Local Talent

Youth Sports Equipment Drive Hosted by Panola County Chamber of Commerce

The Spring Youth Sports Closet event, hosted by the Panola County Chamber of Commerce, aims to provide equipment and uniforms to youth who may not be able to afford them. Playing youth sports can be costly for parents, making it difficult for some families to cover all the expenses associated with sports. Several groups in Panola County have joined forces to support this initiative and ensure that all children have the opportunity to participate in the sports they love.

Keri Perot Vance, the executive director of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce, expressed the importance of providing support to local youth so they can develop their talent and stay in the community. One group that has been a key contributor to this initiative is the Carthage Service League, a thrift shop located near the Chamber of Commerce. They have donated items to help meet the equipment needs of the children in the community.

Donations are accepted year-round, and the closet is opened during major sports seasons. The Spring Youth Sports Closet event will conclude on May 24th. Anyone interested in donating or picking up youth baseball or softball equipment can contact the Panola County Chamber of Commerce in Carthage. The goal of this initiative is to ensure that all children have access to the equipment they need to participate in sports and stay active in the community.
