Vice President Kamala Harris recently celebrated Women’s History Month at her Washington residence in partnership with the Women’s Sports Foundation. The event honored trailblazing females in sports and was attended by a diverse group of women, including accomplished athletes and influential figures in the sports world. Among the attendees were Nikki Fargas, Renee Montgomery, Lisa Leslie, and many others who praised the efforts of these women.

She highlighted the significance of providing equitable access to opportunities in sports, which can lead to the development of strong leaders and a more resilient nation. She also shared her mother’s advice about being the first and paving the way for others, emphasizing the importance of self-empowerment and standing up for oneself.

In addition to hosting this event, Vice President Harris has made surprise visits to young female athletes across the country, such as coach Dawn Staley and the University of South Carolina women’s basketball team in January and St. Paul Central High School softball team recently invited to the Women’s History Month reception.
